[Boatanchors] Viking II Modulator Question

Probably an attempt to limit the high frequency response of the  
system.  The one on the mod xformer is prone to failure,  Removed both  
of them on a couple of Vikings that I have had with no apparent  
consequences, ill or otherwise.
