BBOD usually stands for "black beauty of death".  Those that were used by Collins Radio in the 75A-4 are especially bad.  Collins used primarily brown colored plastic capacitors in the 75A-2 and 75A-3.  Those are usually leaky as well.

That would be an appropriate name for those......they suck, like all old paper caps that I've ever ran across. I even had some paper caps that were sealed in ceramic tubes with some sort of epoxy looking stuff...they were from the 1960s...and they were bad too.
