The cars are behind!

The Military used 24V systems for HOW many decades now?

There are also general aviation systems that have run 24V systems for 
over a dozen years.

It is NOT simply a marketing "thing"!  Components increase their output 
as their weight goes down.  There IS an initial growth in weight due to 
the "new" battery system - BUT you get payback as "that" technology 
catches up!

Used to operate one specific model 1MW generator that had four 8TN sized 
12V batteries in a series parallel system for 24V.  Now THAT was a lot 
of juice!
