Have seen where some were looking for small coax cable. A source not to
over look is local retailer that sells Sirius/XM radio accessories. A LOT
of replacement magnetic mount antennas are sold due to abuse by users on the
little coax. Often they just toss the old one. Contact your retailer, have
them save the old ones for you. They use a very, very small 50 ohm coax, and
you can solder it! Either Teflon or some high grade heat resistant
dialectric. Usually you can get 6-8ft of good coax from a damaged antenna.
It is either RG-174 or another type that is much smaller than 174. Usually
quality stuff.
Another item. Some have looked for nuts for the jacks on Collins gear.
Knurled are hard to come up with, BUT, the nut used on TV coax splicers,
F-81s is the same thread as the Collins jacks. They are plentiful if you
ask around.
