[Boatanchors] (Kind of) recently acquired Hallicrafters HT-32 Mk 1

A couple years ago, A Hallicrafters HT-32 Mk 1 followed me home from a
hamfest – the only one I’ve been to in Hawaii so far. This
transmitter is unique in that it’s the first piece of civilian
equipment I’ve ever owned so I’m at a loss as to what to do with it
since it's not bare metal, green, Navy grey or black wrinkle. It has
problems – vox/anti-vox and an assortment of others, though I know not
what – but was offered as “free to good home” before being parted
out. I tend to like strays so took it in. All 80 pounds of it.

Since I live in a building that is a genuine guaranteed
accept-no-substitutes full bore with a vengeance RF choke from [insert
bad word here] and there are more house rules than Duane has jokes and
Frogzilla has issues, I’ll eventually be operating from a kind of
Field Day on wheels thingie made from whatever vehicle I can con
someone out of that can handle it. A short bus, like the one I used
to go to school in, would be nice but I don’t know that I can get one.

Anyway, back to the problem underfoot. Since I can’t get to it right
now (I need to find one of strong back to lift it to the bench.
Unfortunately, they keep raising the bribes required to do so.
They’re up to $5.00 now. Can you imagine?), I would like to pick the
collective mind of those here as to possible issues, tweaks,
improvements, hints, kinks, abnormalities, or just reminiscences about
this transmitter.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Michael, WH7HG
