[Boatanchors] Heathkit SB-10 and Johnson Viking II

Anyone out there ever use a Heathkit SB-10 (or other SSB adapter) on a
Viking II? I know I have to change a few things to run sideband (like
re-biasing for linearity and idle current issues), but are there any
other "gotchas" I need to be aware of? I'm putting together a
boatanchor AM station with a Viking II, a 122 VFO, and a National
NC-300, and I thought it might be fun to find an SB-10 and try running
sideband the "hard way" like they did in the Fifties and Sixties! I'm
old enough to remember W4EBG in Paducah (on AM, of course) cussing and
complaining about the "sideband scum" on "his" frequency.
Send me a note offline if you have any words of wisdom.
Thanks!
