Terrific find for the price Jack! They work great and as you probably
know, are the really the only commercial multiband AM transceiver made.

I suspect it may have been custom, only based on the small footprint of
the original. However since it's on the rear edge of the chassis, if
nothing else you might be able to rig up a larger transformer and mount
it on the rear panel if nothing else. Hopefully someone will be more
helpful.

I think all work equally well at RF but be advised that RCA made a
"running change" (i.e. different electrically but no change in marking
designation) when they introduced the "dark heater" version of the 6DQ5
that draws less filament current. Since the G-76 filaments are wired
in series-parallel, you'll want to make sure you use the correct
(original) type tube (2.5A filament) or your filament voltages will be
all messed up!

A fairly dark gray, somewhat metallic. Many of us have stripped and
repained the bezel too, and you can bead-blast the metal knobs to make
them look just like new.
Now my mystery question: Why does the G-76 schematic show V3, the 6DQ5
final tube, to be type 676G? Some draftsman trying to be cute?
