[Boatanchors] BAMA

Maybe I am missing something, but I don't know what all the fuss is about
Windows XP, automatic updates, service pack 3, etc.

I have been using the above with a HP DX 2250, Compaq EVO and Dell Dimension
3000 machines for a couple of years now and have never had a WINDOWS related
problem.

Yes, the automatic update feature does install some un-wanted/un-needed
software, but I just go to add/remove programs and delete the ones I don't
want. . . .

Wow .... everyone on XP should think about a right click on
"My Computer", select properties, select "Automatic Updates"
then select the "Notify me but don't automatically
download or install them" tab. Or just use the "Turn off
automatic Updates" tab. With the "Notify" you can see what
is available and make your own decision "BEFORE" MS makes
it for you. With the "Turn Off" .... well that says it all.
To not do one or the other of the above will just bring
about serious heartbreak and also waste expensive ammo
when you toss your computer out back and start shooting.

Larry,

Try Thunderbird by Mozilla.org. Outlook AND Outlook Express, (Which you
are using.), Leave you at the mercy of windows update and Microsoft's
idiocy.
