Valiant Transmitters

Hi Mike,
I had a couple of those with the same exact problem and in one case I did
disassemble it, cleaned it, then re-lubed it but with no improvement.
As I recall, the large brass nut unscrews from the brass body but my memory
is too vague otherwise to provide more specifics.
I was never able to determine why the "flatness" occurred even after
inspecting the balls and the channels they rode in. I hope you have better
luck.

Subject: [Boatanchors] Disassembly of Vernier Drive Used in Ranger and
Valiant Transmitters
How do I disassemble the vernier drive assembly from a Ranger/Valiant
transmitter?
I have two of these drives and both are very stiff and I can feel
"detents" caused by the (dry?) ball bearings inside the unit. I'd like
to take them apart, clean and re-lube them, but I haven't figured out
how to get them open.
Thanks!
Mike, WB0LDJ
