Biggest headache for TVI is the cable systems. The center of Std
Cable -midband- is in the 2M band.
If the cable co has ANY "leakage", which most of them do, sometimes due to
customers hooking things
up loosly or have open unterminated runs in house, it make a door for 2M.
Bad thing about a lot of new sets, LCD, etc, is the audio section is NOT
shielded and it will really act up
when any strong RF signal gets to it.
Most of the newer sets are pretty well shielded in the RF section, but often
external devices, DVDs VCR,
etc are NOT and are good targets for ham/public radio RF.
Oh, used a Johnson Electronic T/R switch and B&W both for many years. One
was on a Valiant and
HQ-145 station. No problem with TVI but sure tore the heck out of stereo
systems! Had to watch the
SWR pretty close.
