I should've mentioned that all measurements were taken with the coil strip 
completely removed from the rig.

It was a nice surprise to learn that the 160m strip's osc grid coil 
sub-assembly is identical to that in the 80m strip.
Yes, that fact should help you get your MSS, EX on Top Band a little quicker 
& easier.

I wonder if Meissner (and FCC) thought it might have been risky for hams to 
use xtals spanning 900-1000 Kcs (smack dab in the ambc band !) for doubling 
into 160m. Perhaps that had something to do with that design decision...
OTOH, that was one less sub-ass'y for Meissner to have to develop.

Here's hoping to hear yours and others' Sig Shifters on Top Band soon!
