Complete 160m coil strip assembly is Meissner p/n 18-3575.
There are three coil sub-assemblies within the strip:
Osc grid coils (four turret connections) Meissner p/n 05613 - same coils
as in the 80m strip!
Now, I understand why my 1.8 MHz rocks oscillate well for use on both 160,
straight thru and on 80, xtal freq x 2 .
Osc plate coils (three turret connections) Meissner p/n 0-5160.
Amplifier plate coils (5 turret connections) Meissner p/n 10516 or
something like that...hard to read...partially hidden.
The coil terminal numbers are denoted in the assembly instructions as
beginning with terminal 1, towards the rear of the rig.
These terminal numbers do not appear in the schematic and I have not
attempted to make the correlations.
Nor have I attempted to determine any phasing relationships among the coils.
Inductance measurements using AADE L/C Meter IIB:
Osc grid coil terminals:
1-2 = 1.2 uH... this appears to be a tickler coil of approximately 7 turns
wound over the main coil.
1-4 = 116 uH...the main coil.
Short wire jumper interconnects terminals 3-4.
Osc plate coil terminals:
1-3 = 144 uH.
Also connected 1-3 = 22K ohm, 10%, 2 watt resistor. It's effect on the L
reading...I dunno.
No connection on terminal 2.
Amplifier plate coil termnals:
1-2 = 110 uH.
2-3 = 130 uH.
1-3 = 271 uH
4-5 = 110 uH...this is the 300 ohm link output coil.
Thanks for asking for this info...I've learned a bit more about my Novice
(1965) rig.
Dad (W4MAI- SK) used my Novice MSS, EX back in the forties.
Some models go back even farther...
