That's the stuff I'm thinking of. Comes in a small reddish-brown
block, IIRC. I erroneously called it wax which is a.....whole
different ball of wax. (o:

Even on assembled units, I've been able to apply it to the open areas
of the cord, then tune the unit to expose more. With restringing, it's
much easier to treat the entire cord before assembly.
