[Boatanchors] Dial Re-Stringing Madness!

In the mid 60s, My wife and I were visiting her parents in Germany. They had 
a Grundig
table model radio that the dial cord was slipping very bad. I took it out of 
the cabinet and
tightened the string a bit. That did not help. My wife said to try some 
Maggi or Worchester Sauce
since it dries very abrasive. I tried it and it works.
You need only a couple of drops on the shaft and cord....
