[Boatanchors] Dial Re-Stringing Madness!

Too much friction in the mechanism caused by hardened grease in
bearings? I've had luck using a bit of wax on the dial string when it
slips for additional grip, but if the tuning mechanism is stiff and
binds, or other friction is introduced, pretty much and dial cord will
slip.

That'd be my first guess. Not enough tension on the line/weak spring
might be another.

>   The problem is I frequently end up with a dial that stops moving at some point in it's travel range. There is good tension overall and the string is not binding as it travels.  The damn thing just stops turning the cap and slips on the tuning dial shaft.
