Hi, reluctantly, I have a couple of Icom radios for sale. (believe it or not,
I have several dozen!!) I no longer have the room and I have updated my
smaller shack....I am being forced into retirement on 6-1-08.
I am the original owner of both radios. Not only do I have the original
boxes, manuals, etc. I even have the original plastic sleeves the manuals came in.
I have the original bill of sales. Neither radio has EVER has a malfunction or
needed repair. Both were always covered in an air conditioned shack
(non-smoker). Since removed from service, they have been triple wrapped in plastic and
stored in my air conditioned home closet.
Radio #1. IC-551D. This radio has a ARR JFET preamp installed internally.
In addition, it has the matching PS-20 AC power supply/speaker. This radio was
sent to International Radio here in Florida to be aligned and tuned. It is
capable of producing 100W output, which was enough to drive my pair of 3-500ZG
to the legal limit. I used this radio back in EM78, and although the location
was less than perfect, I managed to work 370 grids.... This radio has NEVER
been mobile!
Radio #2. IC-251A. This radio has had a PIN diode mod to the front end to
improve the weak signal ability. Although only 10 W output, it was used with
a 200W Mirage and 2 KLM 16LBXs at 100 feet. A mast mounted ARR GaasFET preamp
allowed me to win the KY section in several ARRL VHF contests.
Would prefer to sell all 3 units as a package!. Inspection is available. I
live in Northern Florida, near Lake City.......I would consider a nice Collins
75S-3X receiver as a trade. I have several other Collins and would like to have
a 75S-3B, etc...... Other interesting HIGH END receivers also considered. I
collect receivers....
These radios are as close to 'NEW" as possible. Forget "RadioMart's'"
adjectives...
Not cheap, but a once in a lifetime opportunity. Although they don't have
DSP, etc, These radios will run with anything available today.....
Thanks,
ron
