[Boatanchors] Intelligibility on SSB

Ken, I had the same experience many times over the years as I used phasing
rigs from HF to UHF driving transverters.

Memories of owning a 10A, 10B, 20A, 100V, 200V, HT-37 and Lakeshore
Phasemaster are still vivid. The DSB with carrier from the 100V used to
drive a NCL-2000 to around 400W and the reports were always excellent as
long as I kept the internal clipper cranked back.

For vintage enjoyment these days I use a Viking I that I tailored the audio
to fit my voice. It certainly didnt involve $1000 to do it either! But then
again I ignore the 75M crowd that are a bit obsessed with themselves.
