Well, if I had to make the choice, I would keep the Challenger,
only because it seems that there are fewer of them around. And
I think the power transformer is more reliable than that of the
DX-40. However I had a DX-35 with an outboard plate modulator
we used back in the '60s, was still cranking it out when traded it
off, ran about 50W, sure sounded good. Liked it except for the
stupid "springy" ELMECO (?) meter.
