So far the consensus is that the fil. voltages are gonna be ok...whew. I
would think trying to get them closer to nominal would be a hair-pulling
job. The two 25L6GTs are both RCA, but there are some slight differences in
the construction...plus, one of them has the shaded glass, the other
doesn't.

This rcvr is a real, live AC/DC job. It uses a good old fashioned selenium
rectifier, which is in good shape, giving about 150vdc B+ (no load). There
is also a 0A3 regulator. I have mentioned this rcvr on the list before. It's
a L.R. Dooley (aka Boulevard Electronics) R-138. It was orig. designed for
the US Coast Guard, but the Dooley contract was terminated and Boulevard
picked up the pieces and sold them mostly as kits around 1953 (see Dec '53
QST,
P.143 for an ad). It covers from 200kc to 400kc and 490kc to 18mc with a
455kc IF. I know of
one other working and in use...N0TE who says his works pretty well on AM
with plenty
of audio...2 watts P-P from the 25L6GT's and a ten inch spkr. Mine must have
been a kit, because the wiring was worse than terrible and I opted to tare
down and rebuild.

As far as the line voltage, I will probably be using a bucking fil. trans.
device I saw somewhere (probably on this list) and now have several in use.
This device usually gets the line voltage closer to old time standards.

Thanks for all the comments....Bill K4JYS
