Many thanks to all who replied to my query about the HR article.  I now 
have electronic copies of the article.  The piece turned out to be a 4.7 
to 15.5 MHz, four transistor regenerative receiver that was designed by 
WA5SNZ who, at the time of the article's writing, lived about 8 miles from 
where I live now.  Although designed for WWV, it might make a decent field 
day receiver for 40m CW, with a hollow state homebrew transmitter of 
course.
