[Boatanchors] BA's at Field Day

In 1965 I modified a 75A4 with 7360 mixers, 6GM6 RF, cascaded filters, gain
equalization, SS AGC, audio mods and a bit more. It was HOT and held up well
in contests paired with a 100V and NCL-2000.
In later years I had a couple of C Lines with Sherwood mods, cascaded,
filters, etc and still used the 75A4 for serious digging on 160/80.
These days I have a pair of TS-940's modified to the hilt and the same 75A4
when the going gets tough.
I have never had any other receiver come close and that includes a rebuilt
and properly aligned R-390A.
The 940's and C Lines had tighter CW filters but the DX gets lost in the
noise and Ive been unable to pinpoint why. Im beginning to think it has
something to do with product detector or audio chain noise.
