Hi Jack,

My Dad had one of those in "57" or so, and I happened across one here
about a year ago, but in the intervening years I had never seen another
one. I guess they are kind of rare but don't know for sure.

It is my understanding that they were designed for use with the BC348
war surplus receivers, which is why I bought it, but I have nothing to
confirm that. I looked for a manual as well but no luck. The 4.5Mc
IF is what I figured it was as well. One thing I noticed is that the
filiment power is switched between the three RF amps and oscillators,
curious design but it works "ok" If I remember correctly it about a 4-
5uV sens on 6 meters. Seems to actually be 3 very similar, or maybe
identical design, converters in one box sharing the common IF amp. The
dials seemed to be pretty close after you get the band edges set.

GL on finding a manual. The one I got didn't have a back cover and
there were data plates that I could find. The regulator was 90 volts
as I recall. The one that was in mine seperated from the base and had
been broken so I used some zeners in lieu of the original one.

A not so common piece of history but not a stellar performer either.
Enjoy it.
