Wasn't the HC-10 an after thought add on for the HQ-145 etc receivers?
Remember back in early '60s we got a new AM station for our college and
had a Valiant and HQ-145, talk was to convert to SSB using an HC-10
which was a "plug and play" accessory and use a Johnson SSB adaptor,
that never materialized I think, ended up trying to get a Pacemaker and
using
Valiant as amplifier, but money ran out and most all the hams in college
club
left.
