[Boatanchors] Speaker maintenance

Hello members of the various reflectors,from Joe w5jdy in Okla.   I recently
acquired an old 1937 Zenith for restoration. By good fortune the 12"
electromagnetic speaker is in remarkably good condition but the cone is
brittle feeling and dry as dust.   My question is should I coat the cone
with something or "Leave it alone" don't fix it if it aint broke.  Thanks
