Has anyone had any success in replacing the 2N2869 series regulators
with something else that is readily available? I know there are
equivalents such as the NTE179, but I have tried those and not had
much success. I am hoping someone has found another replacement that
is more reasonably priced and possibly made some circuit changes to
accommodate the new transistor. I have narrowed my problem down to
mismatched transistors, since everything works just fine with only one
transistor in the circuit (the one with the lowest leakage). When I
add the second one (more leakage), the over current relay kicks in.
Both transistors test good (have reasonable betas, just not matched
well). Any ideas? Thanks, Charles, K4ZRJ
