Duane,
I smile quite frequently! I just have this "thing" about certain
discussions getting started. They have this peculiar tendency to begin
flame wars.
As to the history:
The first military service to be formed was the Continental Army.
The second was the Navy. (Marines were those UNDER the Navy that boarded
hostile vessels)
The Army Air Corps was formed at Ft. Meyer, VA flying Wright Flyers.
There is a Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Followed by: (No particular order!)
USAF Chief of Staff
USA Chief of Staff
USN Chief of Staff
Under the USN Chief of Staff is the Commandant of the USMC (THEY are
part and parcel to the USN.)
I've had enough FIREWORKS to last more than a lifetime. BTW - Already
stepped on a landmine - a Bouncing Betty style. It came up and winked
at me, BUT, didn't go off. I can't imagine WHY my pants ended up wet! <G>
Don't much care for prune juice. Prefer Single Malt Scotch to loosen up.
Y'all have a VERY happy Fourth of July!
