as far as minimal assets, i think that's incorrect; i recycle for a
licensed CISCO server facility here and until i actually entered the
facility (well over 1000+ racked servers and the thousands of pieces
that go along w/ them) and saw the huge amount of work and maintenance
that goes along w/ such an operation i had no idea of the extent of
such an operation.
providing filtered, clean air for this late-model building alone is an
immense job; hundreds of filters are changed out every 15 to 30 days
alone; i won't bore you with the amount of large late model HD's that
eat it constantly, along w/ other boards and pieces. and backing up
such a large amount of data is simply doubling the amount of storage
space and work.
eBay HAS to have an extremely large server facility to keep such a
large online operation working smoothly - maybe not a lot of personnel,
but a large amount of hardware, software, maintenance & upkeep.
