Thanks for all of the opinions about refinishing the SP-600 red knobs. 
I think I'll try to re-anodize them because that's their original 
finish.  Now, where'd I put that concentrated sulfuric acid...

While I'm here, I'd like to offer a public "thank-you" to Gary, WZ1M, 
for re-winding a unique power transformer for a friend's marine 
refrigerator.  Gary did the job in fine fashion for a fair price, 
thereby saving my friend the expense and hassle of replacing the 
refrigerator in his Catalina sailboat (a hideous job, I assure you). 
Friend told me today that he was drinking cold beer on the boat again as 
of yesterday.  He is a Happy Boy!
