[Boatanchors] NC-300 drum dial cord

Good afternoon to the group,
 
Has anyone ever had to restring the drum dial cord on an NC-300?   There is a 
diagram in the manual, but the pulleys are next to impossible to  reach.  Any 
help would be appreciated.
