Pete,
The NC-109 was my 3rd receiver. And my first new one. 1960. I used it on 10M
a lot with 6M and 2M converters.
I have an SX-110 that is not worth much above 20M either.
In any case I would consider building a converter for the bands above 20M.
Since they are single conversion except the NC-183.
