[Boatanchors] DX-100 whata good amp for my DX-100, i have a SB-220 now

Hi Guys..
I have been planning my AM station, I have a Heathkit DX-100 and a HQ-180,
I have been putting a Heathkit SB-220 back together and now its ready to go, But i been told its not good for AM. 
Since AM is my plan what does one look for, I have a Johnson Thunderbolt ,Offered Needs a going over been setting for my years but price is $300.oo.i n nice looking condition.
any other thoughts.
