[Boatanchors] Recommendations - Best Black Crackle Paint

Can anyone recommend the best black crackle spray paint to use for acheiving
a look and feel similar to the black crackle finish on old military gear?
I'm trying to paint an aluminum rack panel for a speech amp that has already
been drilled for all the switches, meters, pots & etc.  I would also be
interested in any suggestions or hints that should be followed for proper
surface preparation such as what kind of primer to use.  I would prefer to
buy the paint locally, instead of purchasing it via mail order.  I have
local outlets such as Home Depot and Lowes available.  Thanks in advance for
any suggestions or ideas.
