Ted, yes, I wet to Martyn's house back when I lived in Kentucky, about
10 miles from him. He had a Yaesu Transverter for my 901DM and I had
been searching for a couple of years. These things are not too rare, if
they have only one or 2 VHF bands in them. I had a complete 901DM
station a couple of years before that time and I REALLY enjoyed. At
that time I didn't have the room, and the 6 Meter Transverter (10 W)
would not drive my pair of 3-500Zs.
Having dealt with him when he was "Multicomm 2000", I knew of his
'rep'. Back in the late 90's, he told me that he was involved with a
group of guys back in his country of England.
So, I wanted to see the Yaesu for myself. Of COURSE (!!) it was from
his personal collection, **MINT**, **LOOK**, ad nauseam.
He said it worked perfectly, which was strange, since he did NOT have a
901DM.... He included the necessary interconnect cable that was a mess.
When I got home, I discovered the cable did not even match either end!
No problem, as I was primarily interested in the 6 Meter Module. It was
OK, and I tested and sold the 432 and 144 Modules and cabinet on eBay.

Right now he dhas a BEAUTIFUL Collins 75A-4 on there. Of course, it's
from his 'private collection'. He will be selling the KWS-1 also.

I have to admit, he does INDEED have some nice stuff on there. Having
lived in Ky, I can vouch for the fact that there is NO WAY h
e's getting
the stuff locally. I don't know where he gets it....

A short time he listed an old entry level Heathkit receiver. It too was
listed as *MINT**, etc. It was the ugliest pile of rust I( have ever
seen. (and I have been through some REAL dogs!!).

I know for a fact, he has multiple IDs and bids against his own
equipment to drive the price up.

All this I reallllly don't give a darn about. If somebody want to pay
his price and are aware of his methods, cool with me.

What I DO care about is the way he parts out a radio to make more $.
This just makes the new owner have to struggle to get it back up to
where it was, IF he can even find the accessories.....

Why he does it? Unemployed, a Citizen? I doubt it. His call? Unknown....

Happy Holidays!

Hi Ron
Ok on not being from our buddy. I can not understand why he lies the
way he does. If you have met him maybe you can shed some insight on
this ..
Back in nov of 04 I bought a Drake tr-4 from him. In the photos he
displayed it looked great. What I received was a dented non working and
very poorly packed tr-4 . I connected everything to it and found it non
working no vfo functio
n and stuck on a single frequency on every band.
After I called him I was then able to ship it back for a refund but I
was out shipping both ways . I then began to watch him like a hawk . He
re listed this item with the same crappy lies and probably stuck it to
some other poor unsuspecting ham..
After this I can not tell you how many HORROR stories i have been told
about from other people who have had very bad dealings with this Crook.
73 &Merry Christmas...
