He he - well Brad - they will CERTAINLY get discharged
successfully enough with those shorting wires!!
Once o4 twice when I was teaching high school, students would
go out into the shop with a large electrolytic and charge it up on
a bench power supply to a few hundred volts. They would them
march into a classroom full of 9th graders and quickly discharge
the
thing across their brass belt buckle (very, very popular among
hip cowboy teenagers in Tennessee in the 1970s!) to the utter
shock and astonishment of the younger kids.
Those things could make quite a loud crack and a
powerfully bright spark, disturbing my otherwise serene
classroom...
Of course, they wouldn't do this too much because of the risk
of punishment from yours truly, but the real disincentove was
the ugly weld marks hey would get on their nice belt buckle
from contact with the capacitor screw terminals.... Gotta still
be able to impress the girls you know....
OK, and no jokes about the town of Bellbuckle, TN please!
