Guys...!
When I first posted this notion a few days ago, the intent was to
demonstrate the effectiveness of re-cycling what has become, to many, mere
electronic trash...and even though I take NO credit for the idea, I was
hoping that, with its highlighting on a forum like this, the spirit of Ham
radio resourcefulness might yet shine some (however faintly).
It was NOT intended to be so technically sound and acute as to safely put
men on the moon again --- so everyone, please, lighten up just a little...!
The thing DOES seem to work well into the MF range of the spectrum --- and
by dis-connecting any one leg of the dipole from the 300-ohm terminator of
the baluin, signals go WAY down...so SOMETHING is definitely "...doing its
job" therein, despite any nay-saying from the purists who might walk among
us, Hi Hi.
Best of all, the proverbial price is right!
