If you really want to generate some TVI assemble a spark gap transmitter 
from a Model T ignition coil. Does wonders to radio and TV reception!

One of the many "how to convert surplus radio books" had an interesting 
article on the SCR 181 A/C set. Remove all the tubes, remove the coils, then 
remove the variable capacitors and then remove all other components. What is 
left is an empty aluminum chassis with holes in it. To me, this is not a 
modification, this is a complete rebuild on a former radio chassis. Why not 
start with an empty chassis?
