[Boatanchors] Viking Ranger or Hammarlund HX-50,
which to use for AM?

As I remember the HX-50 was a filter rig ( as opposed to a phasing rig). Most of the filter rigs of that vintage transmitted carrier with only one sideband on AM. If that's the way the HX-50 does AM, then another reason to go with the Ranger.
