[Boatanchors] Heathkit SS-9000 station available FS slightly OT

Not a "True" BA in the purist view, but as most Heathkits are accepted as 
such I wanted to mention it here because I like "yous guys" and I know you 
all have deep pockets  ;)  (If they are like mine they are deep and 
empty!)  I'm helping a gentleman in the Boston area thin his heard.  In 
his advancing years, and now living in an apartment setting, he is getting 
off HF and will focus on local ragchews on V/UHF.  Available to a new home 
is a Heathkit SS-9000 station.  (SS-9000 Radio and PS-9000 Speaker/Power 
Supply/Dual Clock)  The radio powers up fine and functions well.  Tx power 
looks good. It also has a basic hand mic.  Cosmetically it is at least an 
eight out of ten.  It was last used 6-8 years ago.  Last one I saw on the 
E-vil place, in similar condition brought in almost $800.00.  In a local 
New England sale, this one is available for $600.00  The firewall / email 
filters at this email are tough to get through so you may contact me at

bring it to Nearfest or will meet someone in Eastern MA.  It can be seen 
in Peabody MA or Maynard, MA.   Shipping is possible but in the weight 
game this is a true BA and proper packing, (Triwall cartons, expanded 
foam...)  freight and Insurance (required if shipped) could easially run 
$100 plus to get out to the left coast.
