[Boatanchors] 51J-2 PTO and manual

I just bought a 51J-2. Does any one here have any experience with a
70E 7A PTO? Mine can be adjusted for a minimum of 6 Kc too wide end to
end. Are these similar to later PTO's in that a coil of wire can be
clipped to bring it back within adjustment range? Also my manual is a
Sept 1950 which I've read has a lot of errors, are there later ones,
if so what are they and does anyone know of a source?
