Considering that the Dollar is going to continue
to fall for some time yet in relation to other currencies,
this might not be as bad as all that.  
Non-US people can buy more shipping with a Euro now 
than they could a few years ago,
so perhaps it's not so dire, for them, anyway.
A few years ago, $50 surface shipping was around 40 UK Pounds.
Now, $140 in Airmail shipping is 70 UK Pounds.
Cost in US units almost tripled,
 but non-US units did not quit double.
So they are paying more- in their terms, 
but receiving much more service for it.
As the Dollar continues its collapse, 
their ability to pay for Air shipping will get better.
This may, in time, work out, at least for U.S. sellers.
