I once shipped a 140 pound tape drive using "Greyhound Package Express"
as USPS limit was 130 pounds. heir limit was higher but I don't remember
what it was but maybe 190 pounds.
It was not too bad as they would carry it in the luggage hold and the
receiving party would pick it up at the local Greyhound depot. All those
busses were air ride suspension so it was fairly smooth. It was really
cheap as all they were doing was loading what you brought in on the
sending end and holding it at the receiving end until it was picked up.
Do they still have that service?
