[Boatanchors] Frequency Counter

Hi Joe,
Most of the DMM frequency counters only go up to around 10 mhz so make
sure the one your are considering does go high enough to cover your
needs. An alternative is one of the digital readout shortwave receivers
so you can set/monitor the output of the generator. A good little
digital shortwave is very handy in that you can listen to the first
oscillator in the receiver under alignment and set it this way rather
than trying to tune in the generator signal. It also makes a good
troubleshooting device to check that the various oscillators are
working. I have HP and Tektronix counters on the bench but I use my
Grundig YB-400 shortwave receiver a lot when aligning radios.
Best wishes,
