Hi Group,
If you aren't ready to "negotiate" on your asking price at a
hamfest, you may have the privilege of taking that item back home with
you! If you want $300.00 for a transceiver, ask $325 for it, and get
$300. The happy buyer gets the break he wants, and you get the price
you originally wanted (or you may get the whole enchilada!). Buyers
can be a strange bunch at times (depending on their amount of
disposable cash they bring with them). And, there is always one in the
whole bunch that will pester you about an item on your table (you can
bet on it). You can never keep everybody happy all the time, so don't
try.
For the fellow who bought two Svetlana 811A's, one good, and one
dud, try the company service rep for the manufacturer. You may be
pleasantly surprised. They are the best 811A's on the market, and the
rep will not want any bad comments on their product.
