Well, if I look back to my start in ham radio in the 70's (I know,
that makes me a newbie) the only folks who had Collins stuff were
laywers and doctors. Nobody else could afford it or even think
about it. And even those who bought that stuff were amortizing
the cost over decades of ownership.
