I remember a Collins or Gates 1KW transmitter at the transmitter
site for WRFR/WFLC in Franklin N.C. It had been retired for a RF
Harris 1KW transmitter installed in the studio offices. It has been 14
years since I worked there, but Brenda Wooten - the station owner
then, may know if they still have it. The transmitter shed was
moisture proofed, but not temperature controlled. You may get lucky by
calling the station, just to see if it still there, and what condition
it is in. As I remember last seeing it, it was complete but
disconnected from power, audio, and antenna lines. It was offered to me
for free, but I had no way to move it, nor anyplace to set it up (I
lived in a rented house at the time). I hope if you call, that it is
still there. Good Luck!
