You guys overpay! My buddy Jack, K0EWU and I got a pair of SX-73
Hallicrafters rcvrs at a garage sale. Had to pay $15.00 apiece for them.
Cleaned up nicely after we cleaned the rat droppings off of them. Actually
Jack is the master of such things. This isn't the best of his low/no cost
deals, just one that also involved me. He is the master!

I love that kind of find; where no one else knows of its worth and just
wants to get rid of it.

A friend of mine got a NOS Evinrude 50 HP outboard motor for fifty bucks
that way.

I was scrounging at the town dump a few years ago and sitting for scrap was
a R-390A (that's non-non-A). I heaved that one in the back of the car and
beat feet immediately; scrounging is not allowed.

Does anyone else have any good "Low or No Cost" stories?

Drew
