It's not a bad unit. I have one. Stay away from the tunnel dippers. A
sheet of Baggie material will keep the foam in the box from sticking to
the coils.

If you want better frequency accuracy, dip your network then measure the
frequency with a nearby receiver with a BFO.

  Has anyone ever used a Heath HD-1250 Dip Meter? How good do they work?

  I'm going to use it to set up some resonant circuits to check if I
need
  to wind more turns on some coils, or change the value of the cap.  I'm

  thinking about getting one and was looking at a Heath from a ham
locally.
