I'm really, really glad that was all. I think you were rather lucky.
A former boss, about 20 years back, was drilling a rivet out of a tube
socket, to replace it. There was some sort of wire retainer on the
socket; the drill caught and spun the rivet -- and the piece of wire.
He lost the last joint of his left index finger -- shredded to bits --
before he could get the drill shut down.
