Mike,
Unfortunately I cannot find the reference to that mod but it was many 
years ago (1993). A search of the ARRL archives might yeald a ref to 
it. The only changes are the 2 sensing diodes and their 2 caps. Cr1 
and Cr2 are now 1N914's and the .001 mfd's are now .02 mfd.
