Hello to all members of the various repeaters from Joe w5jdy in Okla...
While restoration of an old 1930's Atwater Kent console radio,I noticed on
the Rider Schematic Diagram the way the resistors were desiginated. All
resistors had the three colors written next to the resistors and the values.
For ohms they used the regulator Omega sign.. When they turned the Omega
sign upside-down it stood for meg ohms. Example: .1 upside-down Omega
sign meant 100,000 (100K) ohms.
It was used on all the resistors over 99K.. Has anyone seen this
before? Joe
